{SALUTATION}
I am writing from the United Kingdom about Ghazaleh, an Iranian woman in Denmark who has been told she must leave for Iran by 21 October 2026.
Women returned to Iran today face grave danger. Iran executed at least 1,639 people in 2025, including at least 48 women, the most in more than two decades. The UN Fact-Finding Mission on Iran has found that the crackdown on protests in January 2026 involved crimes against humanity, and that women in detention have been raped and sexually abused.
Denmark recognised this danger in January 2026, when asylum cases and departure deadlines for Iranians were paused because of the situation in Iran. That situation has not improved. Executions continue at a terrible rate.
I respectfully ask you to:
- ensure that Ghazaleh is not returned to Iran, and that her case is looked at again in the light of current conditions; and
- restore the pause on returns to Iran for as long as these conditions continue.
Denmark has a proud record of protecting people from persecution. Please do not send Ghazaleh into danger.
Yours sincerely,

Iran henrettede mindst 1.639 mennesker i 2025, heraf mindst 48 kvinder – det højeste antal i over 20 år.
